The MPCG Speech Team competed at this year’s second Grafton Tournament on March 19th with Class A and Class B schools from the eastern half of the state. Individual results are: Teri Nelson – Serious, Top Novice; Malena Twedt – Entertain, Top Novice; Morgan Palmer – Humorous – 3rd place; Storytelling – 4th; and Colvin Abler – Serious, 3rd; Poetry, 5th.

Junior Bank Board is TOMORROW morning at 7:30 in the Mayville office. Also, if you have not brought a senior picture yet please do so.

SENIORS, JUNIORS AND THEIR PROM DATES! Northern Air has requested that we have a paper waiver signed by all students attending the Post Prom Event at their facility. This is a requirement – even if you have done an online waiver in the past, we must have a signed paper waiver for Post Prom event. Students who are 18 do NOT need a parent signature but DO need to fill out the form. Northern Air also needs a list of students attending, so, if you think you may attend, pick up a waiver form in the office, and sign up on the sheet provided there, BY APRIL 1st. ALL JUNIORS AND SENIORS MAY ATTEND WITHOUT A DATE. There is NO CHARGE.

Juniors, OWE applications are now ready for next year. If you are interested at all in Office Work Experience you need to pick up and fill out an application by next Thursday. See Mrs. Strand for application.

The North Dakota Hunter Safety Course will be offered from 8:00 AM to noon, Saturdays, April 2nd, 9th and 16th, with the final test Monday night, April 18th, at the Archery Club in Portland. By law, persons born after 1961 must take a certified hunter education course prior to obtaining a firearm or bow hunting license. The Mayville Youth Soccer League is excited to cooperate with Coach Dan Weiler for Mayville Soccer Camp this summer! Dan is a college soccer coach with extensive experience running youth soccer camps, and we are lucky to have him come to our community this summer. Camp will run July 18 through 20 from 9:00 to 11:00 am at the Peter Boe Jr. Elementary school field, and is open to boys and girls, ages 5-18 with all abilities. Seniors, the Mayville Fire Department is looking for 6 volunteers to help with their annual Fund-raiser this Saturday, March 19th. Call Kent Paulson at 701-430-0202 if you can help out. This can be used as Community Service Hours. So far we have NO volunteers. Let’s help out our local fire department, people.

“Night of the Arts” will not be as it has been in previous years. Instead student artwork will be displayed at the Middle School and High School concerts, May 5th and 12th, respectively. The Speech Team will also give a presentation.

MARCH MADNESS IS HERE: High school and middle school students are invited to fill out a basketball bracket for the NCAA basketball tournament. There will be a prize for the person with the most points accumulated by the end of the tournament. You may pick up a bracket from Mrs. Hanson. Brackets are due by 3:30 Wednesday.

The MPCG Speech Team competed in the second half of the Valley City Sail East Swing Tournament last Saturday. The team was comprised of Kyra Mortenson, Malena Twedt, Ava Nelson, Teri Nelson, Zoe Agnes, Morgan Palmer, and Kailer Riedman. The meet was made up of 18 Class A and B schools and MPCG tied for 4th place! Individual results are as follows: Malena Twedt ~ Top Novice in Entertain; Kailer Riedman ~ 3rd in Humorous, 1st in EPR, 1st in Serious, and 1st in Dramatic, Triple-State Qualifying!
