SCHOLARSHIPS Electric Cooperative Youth Tour Essay Contest: Juniors and Sophomores within the Nodak Electric Cooperative service area can win an all-expense paid trip to Washington DC June 10-16, 2017. Students on the tour learn about electric cooperatives, American history and US government, take part in National Youth Day, visit North Dakota’s representatives in the House and Senate, and explore the sights of Washington DC. Submit an essay addressing the topic: "Democracy is the Foundation of our American Way of Life and of Cooperative Enterprise”. The fundamentals of democracy include voter participation, political party affiliation, and public debate of issues. Describe what you think makes our current democracy strong, and provide suggestions for ways our democracy can be made stronger and more effective." Our Sophomores will be attending the Northern Valley Career Expo this Wednesday, November 2nd at the Alerus Center in Grand Forks. Due to the starting time of the Expo, sophomores will need to be at the school and seated on the bus by 8:10 AM. In addition, students will be responsible for their own lunch – either bringing money or packing a lunch.
The One Act Play Cast and Crew will present “The Tribunal” at 8:00 (note the time change) tomorrow evening in the auditorium. Everyone’s invited to attend.
FCCLA members interested in participating in STAR events please meet TOMORROW after school in the FACS room for a brief informational meeting. Plan on an hour to learn about the event you would like to take part in.

Today the Volleyball Teams play in Hillsboro.7th and 8th Grade are excused at 2:45 and will play at 4:00 and 5:00 at the high school; C Squad and JV are also excused at 2:45, and Varsity will leave at 3:35, to play at the Hillsboro Events Center starting at 5:00. Let’s all come out and support the Patriots!
