Cumulative Scholarship Opportunities List - Newest Opportunities Listed First 

Sanford Health Foundation offers several scholarship programs for funding your post-secondary degree, including:

  • Heart of Tomorrow Program for children of Sanford Health employees.  This scholarship is designed to assist employees' dependent children with a $1,000 gift to be used in their pursuit of post-secondary education.  Applications are due March 29, 2019.
  • Health Network Scholarship offers a $2,000 scholarship opportunity to students pursuing a post-secondary degree in a health care-related field. By offering this scholarship, we are making an investment in our region's future workforce and the communities we serve. You do not need to be a Sanford employee to apply.

Traill County Crop Improvement Association:  Senior pursuing a degree in an agricultural-related field.  Applicant’s family must be a resident of Traill County.  Amount: $500 (4)  Due: April 15th.  Application available in the counselor’s office.

May-Port CG Dollars for Scholars:   Seniors apply electronically by going to http://mpcgarea.dollarsforscholars.org/ .  Go to the parent-student tab in order to register.  You are asked to submit a 300-word essay about career objective and future goals.  If you run into problems, click on the support tab on the left hand side of the screen or come see me.  In addition, applicants need to turn into the school a form detailing their volunteer experiences throughout high school. Application due date: April 15th.  Don’t wait until the last day because transcripts and a reference will need to be uploaded.  Be sure to go into the MY Scholarship tab to apply for all the separate scholarships that appear.

American Crystal Sugar Company Scholarship:  Senior pursuing an undergraduate degree in the area of Science, Agriculture, Engineering, Mathematics, or Technology.  Based on an essay, extra-curricular activities, and community service. Must have at least a 2.5 GPA.  Amount:  $1000  Due:  April 21st.   Application available from the counselor.

American Crystal Sugar Company Scholarship:  Senior planning to attend a technical/vocational school in the area of Science, Agriculture, Engineering, Mathematics, or Technology.  Based on an essay, extra-curricular activities, and community service. Must have at least a 2.5 GPA.  Amount:  $500  Due:  April 21st.    Application available from the counselor.

Fargo-Moorhead Builders Exchange Scholarship: Eligible students must be enrolled in or entering a two-year technical program or a four-year college program in a construction-related field.  Full-time students with a 3.0 GPA are eligible to apply.  Applicants evaluated on academic achievement, community and school involvement. Traill County Farm Bureau Scholarship:  Seniors who are residents of Traill County or have parents holding a Traill County Farm Bureau membership, planning on majoring in agriculture-related studies in college or technical school.  Preference given to applicants whose parents are involved in an ag-related industry and to students involved in ND Farm Bureau.  Minimum GPA of 2.5.  Amount:  $500 (4), Due: April 20th   Applications available in the counselor’s office.

Dushinske & Jamison Water Resources Scholarship:  Students who currently attend or plan to attend a North Dakota college or university.  Preference given but not limited to, students in water-related fields and students whose families have taken active roles in the state’s water resource management.  Short essay:  “Most vivid memory concerning water.” Amount: $1500 (two male and two female)  Due: April 1st .  Application available from the counselor.

Associated General Contractors of North Dakota: For students interested in pursuing a career in Construction Management or Construction Engineering at NDSU Amount: $1500, or Civil Engineering. Building Construction, Architectural Drafting, Diesel Tech. or Welding Tech. at NDSCS or Bismarck State College.  Amount: $750.  Due: April 26th . Apply at www.agcnd.org or www.buildnd.org

American Legion Riders Scholarship:  District #8 American Legion Riders will be awarding 15-$1000.00 scholarships to graduating ND students that are planning to continue their education. Must be the son/daughter of the following: military, wounded warrior, disabled vet, survivor of a military KIA.  Amount: $1000 (5),  Due: May 15th

ND Academic and Career &Technical Education Scholarships:  Seniors planning to attend college in North Dakota and meet the academic criteria for either of these $6000 scholarships can apply online between Jan. 2nd  – June 7th  at: https://apps.nd.gov/DPI/scholarship/login.aspx  Late applications will not be accepted. Students eligible via ACT score do not need to send score reports unless they have an ACT score for a test taken after the March testing date. Students must then get the result to DPI before the June 7th  deadline. Students eligible via WorkKeys assessments must send a copy of WorkKeys Skill Reports to the address listed below:

North Dakota Association of Counties Scholarship:  Open to students who have a parent or grandparent employed by a county in North Dakota. This includes elected county officials, appointed officials, full-time employees, and permanent part-time employees. North Dakota Rural Water Systems Association:  Seniors enrolling in Bismarck State College’s Water & Treatment Technology program OR a child or grandchild of a current city/rural water system employee, OR elected city/rural water system official. ND American Legion Auxiliary Scholarship:  Student attending a college or technical school in North Dakota.  Membership and/or affiliation with the American Legion is not required.  Essay of 200 words on your life, education, and goals. Financial need is an important factor.  Two letters of reference. ND American Legion Auxiliary, Past Presidents Parley - Nursing Scholarship:  Applicant must be son or daughter (adopted, step, grand, great-grand) of a living, deceased, or disabled honorably discharged veteran who served during active war dates.  Must be a North Dakota resident planning on entering the nursing profession.  Amount: $500. Real Deal Scholarship: Every month. October – March the Bank of North Dakota awards eight seniors from across the state a $500 scholarship.  In April 2017, these 48 students will have the opportunity to compete for a $3000 scholarship.  Seniors need to have at least a 2.5 GPA, demonstrate school or community involvement in at least activities, and plan to attend a North Dakota college or university.  Apply early to increase your chances of winning.  One application is good for each monthly drawing.  Apply at:  https://adobe.nd.gov/publish/lc/content/bnd/student-loans/real-deal-scholarship/application.html  

Alert Magazine Scholarship:  Write an essay (650 – 800 words) about a personal encounter you or someone you know has had with drug and/or alcohol abuse. Discuss how it was dealt with, what you learned from the experience, and what was right or wrong (in your opinion) about the way the incident or problem was handled.  Senior with a 2.5 GPA.  Amount:  $500   Mail your essay, transcripts, photo, name, phone number, address, and school name to: Alert Magazine, Attn: Scholarship, P.O. North Dakota Scholars Program: 20 – 25  tuition scholarships (at the state school rate) given to students attending an in-state college. The scholarship is based on ACT scores and class rank. The top 5% of scorers on ACT (usually 32) taken between October and June 31st of the student’s junior year qualify.
