The Football Game is at 7:00 Friday followed by the Homecoming Dance. The Volleyball Teams, Cross Country and Jr. Hi and JV Football Teams all have games that week. Let’s all be thinking about costumes and make Patriot Homecoming 2017 the best ever!

Hat licenses will be sold for $2.00 every morning in Mrs. M Johnson’s room. Buy a license once for all week. Homeroom teachers will have all of the details for the various activities.

The Booster Club will be serving Pulled Pork on a Soholt Bun, Chips, Bar & Water at the Homecoming Volleyball Game next Tuesday, September 26 starting at 5:00. Cost is just $6. All proceeds will go to the MPCG Booster Club, proudly supporting all student activities.

SCHOLARSHIPS Better Business Bureau’s Student of Integrity Scholarship: Offering Student of Integrity Scholarships for Minnesota and North Dakota high school students beginning their senior year. These scholarships are designed to recognize and promote ethics and integrity among young people, and will be awarded to students who demonstrate high character in their personal choices and actions. SCHOLARSHIPS Dacotah Chapter, Daughters of American Revolution, Good Citizens Scholarship: Each High School may choose one senior student as the DAR Good Citizen. That student then has the opportunity to enter the Good Citizen Scholarship contest. The chosen Good Citizen student will have two hours to write an essay on a selected topic. Deadline: Dec. 1. The winner of the Dacotah Chapter scholarship is then entered in the North Dakota State DAR contest. The Chapter award is $300 and the state award is $250. United States Senate Youth Program: North Dakota selects two winners and two alternates. Open to seniors and juniors who are currently serving in a position in Student Body Government or Class Officer, a member of student council, or student representative elected or appointed to a district, regional or state-level civic and/or educational organization approved by the state selection administrator. Cross Country competed in the Grafton Meet.Both Jr. Hi teams placed 3rd in the meet and had some strong finishers in the varsity side. Congratulations to Anna Strand and Shawn Klabo for finishing first in their respective divisions.

The Patriot Volleyball Team picked up a big win versus Park River after being down the first 2 games!

Today the Jr. Hi Football Team is excused at 2:30 to play in Hope at 4:30, and the JV Football game against Larimore has been cancelled due to low numbers. They WILL have practice after school. 5th and 6th Girls Basketball will play Central Valley at PBJ at 6:00 & 7:00. Let’s all come out and support the Patriots!

October – March the Bank of North Dakota awards eight seniors from across the state a $500 scholarship. In April 2017, these 48 students will have the opportunity to compete for a $3000 scholarship. It’s time for JAM to begin!! We are kicking this year off by going to Northern Air in Grand Forks this Sunday, September 10th!! We will leave from Mayville Lutheran Church at 11:15am. All 6-12th graders welcome!! We will be doing some jumping and laser tag. Limited number of spots available, so sign up early to ensure a spot. Cost is $5 per person. The deadline to sign up is September 6th. It is suggested to bring $10 for a light meal after.
