SCHOLARSHIPS First Community Credit Union Scholarship: Based on academics, extra-curricular activities, volunteer/work experience, and a short essay. Available for schools in which FCCU has branch locations: Bismarck State College, Concordia College, Lake Region State College, Minnesota State University – Moorhead, Mayville State, NDSU, NDSCS, Northland Community and Technical College, University of Jamestown, University of Mary, UND, and Valley City State. The MSU Pool has Open Swim time 6:00 to 10:00 PM Sundays thru Wednesdays thru spring semester. Cost is $2.

Snowball Week will be January 29 thru February 3. There will be a semi-formal dance on Saturday the 3rd from 9-11:30. Dress up days FOR HIGH SCHOOL AND MIDDLE SCHOOL will be: Monday – PJ Day; Tuesday – Duo Day (example: 2 people work together to make a duo like PB and Jelly); Wednesday – Animal Day; Thursday – UND vs. NDSU; Friday – Flannel Friday. NORTH DAKOTA GOVERNOR’S SCHOOL 2018 ~ If you are a sophomore or junior with above average scholastic abilities and interested in learning more in English studies, information technology, laboratory science, mathematics, architecture, agriculture, or visual arts, become a member of the 2018 ND Governor’s School. This six-week residential program held on the campus of North Dakota State University runs from June 3 – July 13, 2018. Governor’s School offers high-quality, concentrated instruction from NDSU faculty through classroom experiences, discussion groups, labs, field trips, and other activities. Evenings and weekends are reserved for recreational and fine arts activities. The state of North Dakota funds the cost of participation for in-state students accepted into the program. Expand Your Horizons ~ On Saturday, April 7, North Dakota State University will host the Math and Science conference "Expand Your Horizons" for girls in grades 7 thru 9. The day consists of hands-on participation in activities led by area professionals with the goal of sparking the spirit and triggering the imagination of young women so they might be encouraged to select courses in high school that lead to opportunities for exciting careers in areas such as engineering, medicine, computer science, math, and business. Participants will attend workshops without their parents or chaperones at North Dakota State University, Minnesota State University Moorhead, Concordia College, Sanford Health, Essentia Health, Veterans Administration Hospital, and other locations in Fargo-Moorhead. A registration fee of $10 covers the cost of lunch, conference expenses, and materials. The registration deadline is February 16. For more information, see Mr. Varriano or Joan.

The Booster Club is again in need of your help! Seniors and those in activities, we are looking for people to help with our Chili Feed Thursday, January 25from 5:00-7:00. Time slots are 1 hour each. Please volunteer to help out, since the money does go back into our teams and activities.

Seniors, Todd Cameron with Jostens will be here next Wednesday, January 24, to meet with you at 2:30 in the auditorium to talk about what you will need to order for Graduation. Be there. Todd Cameron will also meet with Sophomores January 24, at 3:05 in the auditorium to talk about ordering Class Rings.

Junior Bank Board will meet next Monday, January 22, at 7:30 AM in the Mayville office.

Kayla Anderson, Sam Bertrand, and Morgan Palmer will represent the MPCGHS Music Department in the UND Honor Band/Choir Festival today through Sunday on the UND Campus. Everyone is invited to the concert Sunday at 1:30 at the Chester Fritz Auditorium. Let’s all come out and support the Arts at MPCG!

Today the Girls Basketball Teams host Larimore, 7th grade starting at 4:00 followed by the 8th, JV and Varsity, all at the high school; the Wrestlers are excused at 11:15 to compete in Lisbon today and tomorrow. Also tomorrow, the Speech Team leaves at 6:30 to compete in Park River; Girls Hockey is at Jamestown, Varsity Hockey leaves at 11:00 to play at Kittson County Central; and the JV and Varsity Boys and Girls Basketball Teams host Hatton Northwood, Girls and Boys JVat 1:00, at the high school and PBJ respectively, and Varsity Girls at 2:30 followed by Boys Varsity, also at the high school. Let’s all come out and support the Patriots!

Jr. Hi Boys Basketball played hard and never gave up. Even though we lost twice in close games yesterday, all the hard work will eventually pay off.
