Last Thursday the Jr Hi Boys Basketball Team lost to Griggs 23-18. On Saturday they traveled to McVille to play Dakota Prairie and won both games. The 7th grade team won 29 – 13 with all eight players scoring. The 8th grade won 36 – 24. Great job, guys!

The MPCG Speech Team competed at Grafton on Saturday.The Team took 5th overall in Sweepstakes points out of 15 teams. Individual results are as follows: Lucas Peterson – 8th in Serious; Elsie Twedt- 8th in Inform; Lily Moch – 7th in Dramatic, 3rd in Humorous Duo; Ava Nelson- 7th in Storytelling, 5th in Radio, 3rd in Poetry; Kyra Mortenson – 6th in Serious, 4th in Inform, 3rd in Humorous Duo, 3rd in Impromptu; Malena Twedt – 7th in Entertain, 1st in Storytelling.

Congratulations to Rylee Thompson on a nice showing at the State Wrestling tournament this past weekend in Fargo.

Good luck to the Girls Basketball Team today at the Region 2 Tournament. The Patriots will play Grafton at 6:30 at the Betty Engelstad Sioux Center in Grand Forks.There will be a send-off for the Girls starting at 3:10. Wear RED to the game!

Rylee wrestled well yesterday but came up short and lost 4-2 to the 6th seed in the tournament. The consolation rounds for Class B will start today at 11:00 am. The tournament will start at 106 so I anticipate Rylee at 152 to wrestle approximately 12:00-12:30. Good luck Rylee!

The Patriot Girls Basketball Team hosts Hatton-Northwood TONIGHT at 7:00, here at the high school, for the Region 2 play-in game. The Theme is Beach Wear. A reminder that Season Passes will not work for admission into the game. Prices are $7.00/Adult and $5.00/students, set by the NDHSAA. The winner of the play-in game will move on to the Region 2 tournament at the Betty on Monday. The C Boys Basketball Team will leave at 3:40 to play in Hatton starting at 4:30. Tomorrow the Speech Team leaves at 6:40 to compete in Grafton, and the Boys Basketball Teams play in McVille, 7th grade starting at 12:00, followed by the 8th Grade, JV and Varsity. Also tomorrow the Speech Team leaves at 7:00 AM to compete at Northern Cass; 8th Grade Girls Basketball plays in the Central Valley Jamboree; 8th Grade Boys play in the Northwood Jamboree, and JV and Varsity Girls leave at 10:15 to play in Thompson at 12:00 and 1:30. Congratulations to the FCCLA members that participated in the District 8 competition in Kindred on Wednesday. Competing in Food Innovations were Alexis Thomas, Ahna Mehus and Hanna McIntyre who received a Silver award. Nicole Mehus participated in the National Programs event and scored a Gold. Jayme Osier and Hannah Lundwall presented the Chapter Service Project Portfolio and will attend the State competition in Bismarck in April with a Gold. These members worked hard to represent our FCCLA organization and have developed great leadership skills through their projects.
