SCHOLARSHIPS Prudential Spirit of Community Awards: recognize middle and high school students who have demonstrated exemplary, self-initiated community service. State winner ($1000) plus all-expense paid trip to Washington DC, National winners ($6000) Due: November 1st http://spirit.prudential.com. North Dakota Scholars Program: 45-50 tuition scholarships (at the state school rate) given to students attending an in-state college. Based on ACT scores and class rank. Top 5% of scores on ACT (usually 32) received by June 30th in the student’s junior year to qualify. For more information regarding these and many other scholarship opportunities see Mr. Varriano.
Seniors, you will need another 3 hours of Community Service to earn Privileges for October. Now is the time to start taking care of that. See Joe Morowski about a project he'd like some with.
There will be a student counsel meeting at 8:05 Tuesday Morning in Mrs. Hengel's room.
Detention is with Mrs. Allison Johnson in Mrs. Lee’s room right after school today. Bring work to do.
The Dollars for Scholars Committee is looking for 50/50 ticket sellers for all home games, volleyball and football. Seniors who volunteer for this will receive points toward Dollars for Scholars Scholarships in the spring. Please sign up in the office.
2009-10 Middle School Yearbooks have arrived. They may be purchased in the office for $20 each.
Ron & Tony Jacobson will be here next Thursday morning, September 9, to take individual pictures of ALL STUDENTS, grades 6-12, as well as staff members. Seniors, you may use this as your Senior Picture for the yearbook.
Students in grade 8-12 interested in pre-season basketball or athletic training in Grand Forks please see Mrs. Judisch or Mrs. Erdmann.

The bell at the end of 4th hour rings at 12:12; the 5th hour tardy bell rings at 12:15.
There will be a Middle School student council meeting today at 3:00 in Mrs. Johnson's English room. Elected representatives from all homerooms should be at this meeting. Bring your assignment notebooks and a pencil.
Breakfast is being served from 8:00 to 8:20 each morning here at the high school. Students will punch in their lunch ID numbers, and the amount will come out of their lunch accounts. ALL STUDENTS are welcome to take part in this program.
Juniors and Sophomores interested in taking the PSAT, the qualifying test for the National Merit Scholarship, can register with Mr. Varriano. The cost is $13. Please bring a check payable to MPCG High School. Registration is open to everyone until September 20 and as long as test booklets are available up to October 7th.
Come in and see what is happening in your world! The LIBRARY has a large, flatscreen television which plays the school channel throughout the day. In the reading area, a small flatscreen plays world news channels using closed captioning.

The cheerleaders at every football game will be deciding on 2 fans of the game one high school student and one adult. There will be a fantabulous prize for those people who show good sportsmanship, awesome school spirit, and cheer loudly! You should be on your toes the whole game cuz the cheerleaders will be watching! The fans of the game for the MayPortCG -vs- Hatton Northwood football game are Erin Kreiger and Lois Karlstad. Congratulations! KEEP CHEERING!!!
