What a great time of year! We are nearing the end of the first semester and Christmas Break is officially upon us! I have so enjoyed all of the Christmas cards and holiday goodies you have sent to school with your students! The students took part in a December of “Spreading Holiday Cheer at MPCG!” We had awesome activities for each day of the month. A few fun acts of cheer were to write a kind note to a teacher, hold the door open for someone, and helping to clean up the commons after lunch, among many more cheerful deeds!

Our staff participated in the “12 Days of Christmas at May-Port CG”. As the Principal, it was SO fun to see our teachers having some fun this holiday season! Each day for 12 days our staff was encouraged to dress ‘The Part’ as a present, a tree topper, wearing their favorite ‘Christmas Stockings’, and even showing us their BEST tourist outfits, since ‘vacation’ is here! We also had many days of HOLIDAY GOODIES in the staff lounge throughout the month of December! Thank you so much to all of our board members for helping me with that project! Our teachers were so grateful, and so am I!

As the holiday season approaches, I ask that you give your child the gift of your time. When students are asked to write about a memorable event in their lives, it isn’t usually about a special gift, but a particular experience they have had with someone special. You are that special someone in your kiddo’s life!

During this season of the year I would like to say a special thanks to:

  • Those who routinely advocate on behalf of your student and partner with the school to see that your child has the best opportunities at success. Thank you to those who are doing their very BEST to send your student ready to learn each and every day!
  • Our custodians, kitchen staff, bus drivers, school nurse, paraprofessionals, front office staff, administration, school board members, and teachers who are committed to giving their best to your students every day. I am convinced that we have some of the most amazing people in the world in our building! How lucky are we that our kiddos get to experience their love every day!
  • A community who supports our student’s education and shows interest in all we do! Most importantly a community who is eager to participate, help out, and show appreciation for all that goes on at MPCG!

I am proud of all that we have been doing and are continuing to do at MPCG to educate and influence your students and help them grow into the best possible versions of themselves.

I wish you all the BEST this holiday season!
