May-Port CG T-Shirt Orders are being taken for our 2018 Homecoming week! Patriot Day will be Friday, September 21st for our Homecoming Football Game.  Shirt cost is $15. This is a K-12 shirt order.  You do not need to order a shirt. If you would like to order, order forms are on the table outside of the office. Please turn these in to the office with payment. Orders are due by Monday, September 10th. Parents may order as well!

Boys and girls in grades 7-12 who participated in the Dribbling and Shooting Club Challenge – please turn your forms into the office! 

Any students participating in soccer, please ride Bus 16 to the hockey arena.

FCCLA membership week is next week!  Your $30 dues cover the local fees, the District 3 Leadership Meeting and lunch, and a T-shirt!  Pay your dues and become a member before the rush!  Forms in the FACS room, pay your $30 to the office!  Become a member TODAY!

Those students in grades 8-12 who were unable to make the FBLA meeting on Wednesday but are still interested in joining, please see Mr. T or Mrs. Strand this week! Juniors and sophomores will be given the opportunity to participate in taking the PSAT on Wednesday, October 10th.  The PSAT serves as the qualifying test for the National Merit Scholarship, which honors the top 2% of students in the country.  The test measures critical reading skills, math problem-solving skills and writing skills.  Only juniors qualify for the National Merit Scholarship.  There is a $16 testing fee. Students planning to register for the test should bring a check to Mr. Varriano made out to MPCG.  The deadline to register is TODAY.

Congratulations to those who were chosen to be honor escorts and those on the Homecoming Court! Freshmen escorts are Madison Anderson and Reed Kritzberger. Sophomore escorts are Ava Nelson and Josh Evans. Junior Honor escorts are Taylor Garrett and Sammy Satrom. Homecoming Court: Madisen Knudsvig, Taylor Nelson, Erika Onerheim, Dante Agnes, Jackson Braaten, and Rylee Thompson. Coronation will be Monday September 17, following National Honor Society induction.

 Scholarships: Better Business Bureau's Student of Integrity Scholarship:  Offering Student of Integrity Scholarships for Minnesota and North Dakota high school students beginning their senior year. These scholarships are designed to recognize and promote ethics and integrity among young people, and will be awarded to students who demonstrate high character in their personal choices and actions. There are three scholarships available - two for $2,500 and one for $1,500.  Students are asked to write an essay that gives a personal example of how they were challenged or struggled through a difficult situation and how they overcame the situation by the application of integrity and personal ethics. This must be accompanied by the scholarship entry form, one letter of recommendation, a copy of their high school transcript, a list of extracurricular activities and any post-secondary education plans. All entries must be received by Thursday, September 20, by 4:30pm.  Application: thefirstbbb.org/scholarship Dacotah Chapter, Daughters of American Revolution, Good Citizens Scholarship:   Each High School may choose one senior student as the DAR Good Citizen. That student then has the opportunity to enter the Good Citizen Scholarship contest. The chosen Good Citizen student will have two hours to write an essay on a selected topic.  Deadline: Dec. 3.  The winner of the Dacotah Chapter scholarship is then entered in the North Dakota State DAR contest. The Chapter award is $300 and the state award is $250.
