There is no school this Friday, April 11 or Monday, April 13. The next pick up will be on Friday, April 17 th. The students will be given two weeks of work at that pick up. The next pick up will be on Friday, May 1st. That pick up will be for two weeks as well. We will venture further in future announcements.

MAY-PORT CG WILL BE ENACTING PLAN B PROLONGED SCHOOL ABSENCE: On Thursday, March 20 Governor Burgum gave the executive order that school BUILDINGS would be closed until further notice. He also made it clear that NORTH DAKOTA SCHOOLS will still be educating our students. Each school is responsible for putting together a DISTANCE LEARNING plan for K-12. May-Port CG has been working diligently on this plan throughout this past week anticipating this announcement. May-Port CG is ready to educate all students via distance education. Though the building is closed, we will still be educating students at home starting Monday, March 23. Please plan to pick-up materials at the distribution center on Monday, March 23 for grades K-8 (see pick-up schedule). Grades 9-12 will be attending online via our distance education learning platform, Schoology. On Monday, March 23 the MPCG Middle School entrance and Peter Boe Jr Elementary will be open for ONE PERSON AT A TIME to get materials from lockers if needed. PLEASE read the ACTION PLAN below:

Throughout the week, our administration and staff have been planning our COVID-19 Action Plan. In the link below, you will find a cover letter detailing this plan, which includes Action Plan A - Return to School, as well as Action Plan B - Prolonged School Absence. Also included in this packet are guidelines on Student-Led Conferences, as well as a handout from our counselors. Please be advised this packet has also been printed and will be mailed to all district families. As always, please call the office with any questions. It has been a busy day of planning. Right now at MPCG and PBJ we are looking at a week at a time.
Students grades 9-12, log into Schoology and check your classes. You should receive a video from your teachers as a check in.
Students in grades K-8, please see the upper right side of the “Covid-19 Information” page on our website. You will see a link for “K-8 Teacher video updates.” Please click that link and find your child’s teacher(s) for a video message update!
Parents of students grades 6-12, this week please encourage your students to work on their student portfolios.
A push notification went out this afternoon regarding internet access and meal availability. If your child(ren) is in need of meals while we are out of school, please CONTACT THE MAIN OFFICE. If you have concerns with internet access or access to technology, please CONTACT THE MAIN OFFICE.
TOMORROW (Thursday 3/18) from 8:30-noon MPCG AND PBJ will have one door open to groups of 10 at a time to enter the building to retrieve anything your student might need. We do ask that you grab any items that may be needed for student learning.

Teacher Staff Meetings - March 16, 2020 2:00 pm
We will be having two separate meetings tomorrow with staff. MPCG MS/HS will be meeting in the library at 8:00am. The PBJ staff will be meeting in the PBJ library at 10:00am. These meetings will focus on our return to school plan and our potential alternative education delivery plan.
Administrative Planning Meeting - March 16, 2020 8:00 am
This morning at 9:30am, our administrative team will meet. That team will include our superintendent, principals, secretaries, business manager, nurse, technology coordinator and counselors. We will be planning for a return to school, potential alternative learning opportunities, school nutrition, parent teacher conferences, special education and a variety of supporting details. Teachers should not report to work today. There will be a teacher staff meeting Tuesday at a time TBA. This meeting will be explained further at a later time.

Under direction of Governor Doug Burgum, all K-12 school districts in North Dakota are ordered closed from March 16th - March 20th.
Update - March 13, 2020 3:20 pm
Due to NDHSAA state mandate, all remaining 2020 winter post-season basketball tournaments and fine arts competitions have been suspended. In addition, Spring sports seasons have been suspended indefinitely, which includes practices and game contests. Further information will be released as it becomes available.
Extra-Curricular events - March 13, 2020 1:00 pm
Due to the ND Department of Health recommendations regarding large gatherings, May-Port CG School District will be canceling all extra-curricular competitions and posted events from now through March 22, 2020. At this time, practices are on as scheduled.
Proactive measures regarding COVID-19 - March 12, 2020 2:20 pm
The May-Port CG School District is presenting Proactive Measures to help in the prevention of Coronavirus and other illness. Our school nurse along with school administration is presenting important health related information provided by both the ND Health Department and the CDC to help slow the spread of Coronavirus and other illness. High School/Middle School presentation will take place on Thursday, March 12th at 3 pm and the Peter Boe Jr. Elementary presentation will take place Friday, March 13th at 3 pm.
The district is also taking proactive steps to plan for delivery of school content and educational opportunities through alternative methods in the event of student absence or the need for social distancing. We will continue to act under the advisement of the North Dakota State Health Department, Governor and the Department of Public Instruction.
As always, our top priorities are our student's health and safety along with educational opportunities. Please refer to this page for any future updates on this issue at the May-Port CG School District.
