Wyatt Perkins, 6th grade distance learner was awarded the National VFW award for Patriot's Pen. His essay on "What patriotism means to Me" won at local, regional and state before being announced as the national winner last Thursday night in a national web broadcast. He was awarded a $5000 scholarship, a new Dell laptop computer and assorted goodies. He is scheduled to read his speech at the Mayville Memorial Day Program. Wyatt is the first MPCG student to win at anything above the regional level for Voice of Democracy (high school level) or Patriot's Pen (Middle school level).
A Book & Puzzle Donation Drive is being held for the Portland Child Development Program! Drop off new or gently used books & puzzles appropriate for infants-preschoolers! Drop off locations include the High School Office, Mayville Dollar General, Portland CDP, and the MaSU Education Offices. Donations accepted now through April 23rd. Thank you in advance!
Don’t forget to order your 20-21 Yearbook! Yearbook orders are taken through the end of May. Get your name on the list today! Cost is $35 payable in the office or online at eFunds.
Dual Credit paperwork is in the office for next Fall. Once you have it filled out please bring it to Mrs. Blotsky. These are due May 1.

JUNIORS: A great community service opportunity for this summer: We are looking for volunteers for our kids event at Summerfest on June 26th from 11am-3pm at the Portland Park. Reminder Juniors - you need to complete 10 hours of community service this summer to receive your senior privileges for August and September of next year.
