🏈 Football season has begun!! 🏈

🏈 HS and JH football practice starts Thursday, August 7th at 8:00 AM at the MPCG football fields. 🏈

May-Port CG will be having an Open House on August 18th from 5:30-7:30. The Open House/Ice Cream Social will take place at Peter Boe Junior Elementary as well as MPCG Middle School and High School.

School starts WEDNESDAY, August 20th!

The newsletter that was sent out to families yesterday has a couple of errors in the dates of the open house and the start of school. We look forward to seeing everyone!

One of our own, Mrs. Tunseth, is a finalist for teacher of the year for the state of North Dakota!

In April, North Dakota State School Superintendent, Kristen Baesler honored 48 North Dakota educators who were named County Teachers of the Year from their respective counties. Emily Dawes (Grand Forks County), Hannah Sagvold (Ransom County), Frannie Tunseth (Traill County), and Leah Wheeling (Burleigh County) were picked as finalists from that group of 48 teachers. Once the 2025-26 school year begins, Baesler plans to travel to the finalists’ schools for events to honor their achievements.

“These finalists represent the skilled, compassionate educators that we blessed to have in our North Dakota schools,” Baesler said. “Our Teacher of the Year program is intended to lift up the teaching profession and show the respect, appreciation, and admiration we have for our teachers, and celebrate the work they do to educate the young people who represent our future.”

The Teacher of the Year selection process is spelled out in state law (NDCC 15.1-02-21). Dawes, Sagvold, Tunseth, and Wheeling will be interviewed by an eight-member screening committee, which will choose the 2026 Teacher of the Year.

Baesler and Gov. Kelly Armstrong are tentatively scheduled to announce the winner at 1 p.m. Friday, Sept. 26, in the state Capitol’s Memorial Hall. State law requires that the winner be announced before Sept. 30 each year.

PLAYER & PARENT FALLS SPORTS MEETINGS Wednesday, August 6th starting at 6:00 PM at the MPCG HS. See the attached picture for specific meeting times. Cindy and Laura will be in the high school office starting at 5:20 PM to take fees for the upcoming school year.

The 2025-2026 sports season has started!! Good luck to the girls golf team on their first day of practice! ⛳️

The first practice for the Girls Golf season starts Monday, August 4th at 8:00AM at the Mayville Golf Course. Golfers will need a sports physical completed before the first practice and a "Ready to Play" card turned in at the first practice.

It was a fun week of volleyball. We had 27 high schoolers and 54 players from grades 3rd - 8th grade attending our summer camp. Thanks from Patriot Volleyball!! 🏐
