This is a weekly update from the May-Port CG School District. There are 18 active cases of COVID-19 in Traill County. We have had one staff member test positive for COVID-19 at the elementary school. A total of eight students have tested positive for the virus from the entire district. This number includes students from PBJ the Middle School and the High School. Staff and students are encouraged to wear masks in all indoor spaces and we are providing rapid testing as a screening tool. Anyone experiencing a fever or loss of taste/smell should stay home. If you have other symptoms please mask, test or stay home. We will continue to provide weekly updates and thank you for your efforts to stay healthy.

In an effort to minimize the increasing illness in our schools, starting Tuesday, September 7th, MPCG Schools will implement Stay Home/ Go Home, or Mask Up/Test Out Illness Guidelines. MPCG strongly encourages students with any symptoms to stay home until they are free of symptoms. If students become sick while at school, they will either go home, mask up or test out. See September 3rd morning announcements for more information. We also encourage all students and staff to wear masks, however this is not a mandate. Thank you for helping us keep healthy kids in school.

Mrs. Torgeson’s 8th grade rotation class has been learning all about leadership skills. One way we can show leadership is by volunteering. Today, the 8th grade students walked the school grounds and picked up garbage. With smiles on their faces I may add!

New this year, all forms required for the district are online. This includes student registration updates (i.e. address change, contact information, health updates, etc.) as well as forms that require a parent signature, such as the Student Handbook and Technology Agreement. This is currently only being completed for students in grades 6-12. Please take time in the next few days to log on to your PowerSchool parent portal, click on Forms on the left hand side, and complete all forms assigned to you. Forms cannot be completed through the app, and need to be done through a web browser. This is required, and students will not be able to pick up their Chromebooks on Tuesday without this being completed. As a reminder, all Parent PowerSchool access codes and log in information was included in the red folder you received last year. Thank you! https://mayville.ps.state.nd.us/public/home.html
