Mrs. Torgeson’s 8th grade rotation class has been learning all about leadership skills. One way we can show leadership is by volunteering. Today, the 8th grade students walked the school grounds and picked up garbage. With smiles on their faces I may add!
MPCG Pep Band is performing at tonight’s Patriot football game! Go Patriots!
We are happy to be BACK for a great school year! We are all getting the hang of our new schedules! Mrs. Hanson’s 8th grade PE class is playing a fun game of Flag Football on this rainy Friday!
The MPCG Booster Club Football Tailgate meal and fundraiser has been postponed to next Friday, August 27th.
Parents and students in Grades 6-12, a few reminders! Tomorrow, Aug 17th, is our schedule and technology pick-up date, as well as our Back to School Picnic! Grade 6 will have their technology pick-up from 9:30am-12:30pm, and grades 7-12 will have their technology pick-up from 1:30pm-4:30pm. At 5:00pm we will introduce the MS and HS staff in the gym, followed by the Welcome Back Picnic and school open house. As a reminder, the Technology Agreement must be filled out online prior to any student receiving their Chromebook. All instructions were emailed to parents last week. Please contact the HS office with any questions!
New this year, all forms required for the district are online. This includes student registration updates (i.e. address change, contact information, health updates, etc.) as well as forms that require a parent signature, such as the Student Handbook and Technology Agreement. This is currently only being completed for students in grades 6-12. Please take time in the next few days to log on to your PowerSchool parent portal, click on Forms on the left hand side, and complete all forms assigned to you. Forms cannot be completed through the app, and need to be done through a web browser. This is required, and students will not be able to pick up their Chromebooks on Tuesday without this being completed. The May-Port CG School District will begin the school year in the blue phase of our safe restart plan. That means that masking is optional and that we will have in town bussing service. Buses will stop at the following locations. Riverwood, Colonial Estates, Mayville swimming pool, Mayville Lutheran, PBJ Elementary, Westwood, MPCG MS/HS, Portland Cenex, Portland HUB, Portland School and Bruflat Church. If you would like more detail regarding in town buses, please contact the school.
JUST A FRIENDLY REMINDER:
The building is CLOSED to student/public use after business hours, UNLESS one of the following occurs;
1. You have a key or you have checked out a key
2. You have been GIVEN access to the gym/weight deck by a coach/teacher/staff/admin.
3. You are with a coach/teacher/staff/admin.
IF you do NOT have a key or are NOT let in to the front door (E6) then you may not be in the building.
It is considered breaking and entering without the above access given to the building.

All girls in grades 7-12 who plan to participate in dual sporting events this fall will need to attend the dual sport meeting in the HS Auditorium on Thursday, August 12th, at 8:00 am. Please contact Mr. Kunkel with any questions!

All students in grades 7-12 who are interested in participating in a Fall activity please plan to attend the Fall Parent/Player meeting on Tuesday, August 3 at 7:00pm in the MPCG Auditorium.
The Traill County Community Giving Project will have a backpack distribution day on August 5 from 2:00-4:00pm at Mayville Lutheran. If you have bag questions, please contact Kim Jacobson or Kayla Ness at the numbers listed.
Girls’ Golf for grades 7-12 will be starting August 2nd. Practice will begin 9am at the Mayville golf course. All athletes must complete a physical before participating in competition or practice.

Athletes in grades 7-12 must have sports physicals prior to participating in Fall activities. Sanford Mayville Clinic is requesting athletes to schedule an appointment as soon as possible. Clinic hours are Monday through Friday from 8:00am - 4:30pm. NDHSAA Physical Forms must be completed and brought to your appointment. Forms are available online at: https://ndhsaa.com. Scroll to the bottom on the NDHSAA physical form an instructions. Please don’t wait until August.
