High School Seniors and Parents: don't forget tonight we are hosting a "Financial Aid Night" where we will have Mr. Kunkel talking about what it means to be choice ready, Ms. Torgeson talking about scholarships, and April Djibonon from Mayville State talking about financial aid, the FAFSA, and more. May-Port CG will be dismissing at 12:30pm today. ALL after school activities are canceled.

Over the past 3 weeks, each of Mr. Enget's government classes engaged in Mock Congress. In this simulation of the legitimate lawmaking process, each period was either assigned the role of the Senate or the House of Representatives. With this, both classes were paired with its opposite chamber to highlight our national democracy! In Mock Congress, the students went through five phases: Bill-Writing, Committee Work, Floor Debates/Voting, Judicial Review & Executive Action. Here, they learned both the joys & pains of American lawmaking! For the debates, the students partook in Parliamentary Procedures, modeling after the professional structure of official meetings! Bills debated included topics on health-care, governmental budget, public transportation, labor laws, criminal punishments, legal drinking ages, higher educational funding, border security, gambling legality, Congressional-term/age limits, traffic laws & much more! In the end, not only did the periods produce 8 laws that were signed into law, but they gained great 21st Century skills! Mr. Enget is proud of the work the kids put into this project & the ownership they displayed every step of the way!

Congratulations to our Girls Wrestling team! This is the first May-Port CG girls' wrestling team to ever compete in as a team in duals competition.

The JH Girls basketball games tomorrow at home against Northern Cass have been cancelled. Instead, practice will be at 6:15am at the High School. Also, the games on Tuesday v. Capstone Academy will be played in Fargo at the Academy instead of at home.

The JH Girls Basketball games tonight, 12/5, against Maple River have been delayed to a start time of 4:45 for the 7th grade. 8th grade should start around 5:45.
